Our Community Services

We are a community-centered enterprise, and we're conscious to provide accessible services and resources; one way we do this is through free or donation-collecting events.

Our Community Services focus on providing skills and knowledge training to individuals of a community. These services are facilitated by our Directors of Ancestral Services, and are sometimes delivered in partnership with other organizations. Webinars, workshops, and events are skills-oriented and aim to bring knowledge of climate justice and equity to the audiences.

We collect donations for the Future Ancestors Services Waashayshkwun Grant Fund and other community initiatives.

Each of our public events average 150 to 500 registrants, and $450.00 to $8,000.00 in donation collection

Here's a bank of past public events and trainings.

"A Witnessed Sharing Circle with Afro-Indigenous Advocates: Racism, Solidarity, and Collective Futures" was a witnessed sharing circle hosted on Zoom that aimed to explore the Afro-Indigenous women and non-binary peoples' perspectives and experiences with anti-Black racism, anti-Indigenous racism, and solidarity efforts in our communities.

We raised over $7,700.00 in donations for this event.

The Future Ancestors Waashayshkwun Grant Fund is one initiative our donation-collecting events support - and we're almost at $15,000.00.

The Waashayshkwun Grants are awarded to Indigenous, Black, racialized, LGBTQ2S+, and disabled independent service providers based in what is currently Canada. Despite facing disproportionate barriers, they continue to centre climate justice and equity in their education, lives, and services. These grants are intended to provide the recipients with financial relief and with the opportunity to invest in their business development.
